We set out to run errands in Amsterdam the other day, heading towards a fantastic place I can’t wait to share with you.
Before we set off, my sis-in-law popped into her favorite spot for coffee – de koffie salon – to pick up drinks and delectables like cookies filled with dark chocolate or marzipan and topped with candied ginger. Yum!!
While she was gone I waited in the car, looking about me to see what I could see.
Here are a few shots of the side streets of Amsterdam I saw from my perch in the back seat.
Isn’t it charming? Yes, it rains an outrageous amount here, and the skies are gray more than they’re blue, but it is still such a beautiful place.
What is your favorite place for coffee in your home town?
i like charming old houses which have been converted to a coffee place π of course the modern barista with a comfy couch works too
Oh, I like those old houses too, Shruti. π They make you feel so comfy and welcome. π
Great photos. I love that they show the place “at eye level” It’s like I’m sitting there too.
Thank you, Ana. π I’m so glad they make you feel like you’re right there. π
Ohhh, how I miss Amsterdam! I need to go there again. Hopefully Judit (http://juciutja.blogpsot.com) will move there in September or October so I will have the chanceΒ to visit the place.
My best (or my favourite) creamy cappuccinio is served at Sarki Fuszeres in Budapest. But you will see because I will take you there! π
Hooray! Hooray! Can’t wait to explore Budapest with you. π And Zita, you can come visit me in Amsterdam too!! You’re welcome any time. π
I love Amsterdam! No, I’ve never been there, but your photos are convincing enough.
I’m so glad you love it, Joanne. π I hope you get to explore it to your hearts content one day. π
It’s rained every time we’ve been in Amsterdam…I always thought it was because we tend to visit in Fall and Winter…but summer rain too? =( Gorgeous shots!
It rains a LOT, Andrea!! Oddly enough I didn’t get any rain when I was here in December/January. Probably because it was snowy like mad instead. π
Dreamy! I want to go there!
It really is, Jen! I can’t stop smiling and taking pictures wherever I go. π
Dreamy! I want to go there!
Those are gorgeous photos, Krista. I feel as though I am there with you!
Thank you, Barbara. π It’s such a gorgeous place. π
HI Krista,
We have anew pie shop which has a seriously sinful range of sweet treats and a healthy range of savoury snacks aswell. Being winter I have been partaking of their hot chocolate which is thick and creamy and has a few marshmallows popped on top – mmmm mmmmm roll on Spring so I can stop this addiction!!! π
Oh, it sounds like a wonderful spot, Ann! You and I will have to frequent it regularly when winter comes around again. π
Amsterdam is so breathtaking!Β I can’t get over that building that houses de koffie salon.Β My favorite coffee spot ia at home. After that, it’s anywhere I’m enjoying a cup with Heguiberto.
I love cozy coffee times at home, Stevie. π Isn’t that shop amazing, though?!!
Oooh, cookies topped with candied ginger…. yum!Β And such a pretty spot.Β I love a good coffee shop.Β My favorite local coffee place isn;t quite so quaint, but they do have a great front garden, which I adore!
Oh, a front garden would be perfect, Katie! π I like having beautiful things to look at like that. π
That coffee house could easily be my hangout in Amsterdam; don’t think I have seen a more charming spot yet! I love CafΓ© YounΓ¨s in Beirut. Or CafΓ© Rawdah, on the sea side with lots of people smoking hookah everywhere.Β
Isn’t it wonderful, Joumana?! It makes me grin when I see it. π Your seaside spots sound fantastic. π
Every good cup of coffee should have a great view along with it … I think you’re on to something. xx
I quite agree, dear J. π
my favourite place for coffee is a modest little tea shop by the river π
these photos are amazing, I’d love to be there!
Oh that sounds lovely, Hila. π
Wow, what a gorgeous spot for coffee Krista, looks like a fairy tale! Wonderful photos as always and more & more reasons to visit Amsterdam π
It sure does, Tuula! Such a beautiful spot. π I hope you get to Amsterdam very soon. π
I’d love to go there and sit on one of those terraces.
Cheers,
Rosa
