During the hot, dry months of summer Gozo can get quite brown and dusty, with no hint of the lush wildflowers that carpet the cliffs of Sannat in the spring.
But there are still gorgeous blossoms to be found as you enter cool courtyards and walled gardens, or crane your neck to look up at balconies festooned with cascades of vivid blooms.
Here are a few of my favorites found around Gozo and in the stunning garden of my friend Janet’s bed and breakfast: King’s Lodge.
What are your favorite flowers blooming this time of year?

So glad for you (and us!) that you’ve gotten to have this adventure Krista. Β The photos are JUST GORGEOUS! Β Big hugs!
Thank you so much for the hugs, Paradis!! They are most welcome. π
Wow! Your images are stunning. The colours are breathtaking!
Thank you, Vanessa! The colors are so brilliant here against the backdrop of sandstone and blue skies.
What beautiful flowers – I’ve never seen anything like that first one before, do you know what it’s called? It looks like it’s ALIVE, and not in the normal way that all flowers are – if that makes any sense at all!

The flower is called Passion Flower. Isn’t it beautiful. We are lucky enough to have these flowers in our garden in Gozo and we were also fortunate to have had Krista here to take the fabulous photos.
Gorgeous! I just went camping outside of Winter Park, Colorado, and was surprised how many wildflowers were still in bloom. My favorite were lavendar daisies with yellow middles.
Oh how fun, Bess. π I’ve never been to that park but it sounds lovely. π
You’re right Krista, that garden is stunning! What a great trip…love these flower photos π

Wow that passion flowers is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. What an adventure! Thanks for the pics – the second one’s taken me back to my childhood for some reason (I believe we may’ve had similar blooms in my backyard as a kid).Β
