“There are only two places in the world where we can live happy: at home and in Paris.”
Ernest Hemmingway
“That Paris exists and anyone could choose to live anywhere else in the world will always be a mystery to me.”
Adriana in “Midnight in Paris”
“Paris is a place in which we can forget ourselves, reinvent, expunge the dead weight of our past.”
Michael Simkins
“Paris is the city in which one loves to live.
Sometimes I think this is because it is the only city in the world
where you can step out of a railway station—the Gare D’Orsay—and see, simultaneously, the chief enchantments:
the Seine with its bridges and bookstalls,
the Louvre,
Notre Dame,
the Tuileries Gardens,
the Place de la Concorde,
the beginning of the Champs Elysees—
nearly everything except the Luxembourg Gardens and the Palais Royal.
But what other city offers as much as you leave a train?”
― Margaret Anderson
“There is but one Paris and however hard living may be here, and if it became worse and harder even—the French air clears up the brain and does good—a world of good.”
Vincent van Gogh

A beautiful escape to that magical city we all love. The mood of your fabulous photos seems to intensify in black and white. At the same time I was nodding in agreement with each of your quotes. Oh to be back in Paris….
Thank you so much, Jenny. 🙂 I love the mood of these photos too – they are quieter, more intense and peaceful at the same time. 🙂 I’m so glad you love Paris too. 🙂
Oh my heavens! I’m entranced! The B&W was perfect for this post. LOVE!
I’m delighted to hear that, @ff2c260b4ec4b22b76a0ef583c690426:disqus 🙂 I hope to have more black and whites for you in the next post too. 🙂 xo
This was beautiful. Sigh. Now I want to visit that city even more. And I agree with the others, B&W was perfect. You have a gift. =)
Thank you so much, dear @facebook-100001665607063:disqus Maybe one day Robbie and I can meet up with you and Jared in Paris for dinner. 🙂 Wouldn’t that be jolly? 🙂
Absolutely beautiful! I am getting a yearning to go back to Paris. Last time I went, I was a teenager and I didn’t fully appreciate it. These photos and well-chosen quotes are making me see it through fresh eyes.
Thank you, dearest @katyabroad:disqus I would love to return as well – a Belles meet-up perhaps? 🙂
I want to go to there… please take me?
I would absolutely love to, Hogga!!! 🙂 I think a girls trip is definitely in order. 🙂
It is too long since I was last in Paris, beautiful photos. Enjoy your break. 🙂
Thank you very much, Linda. 🙂 I’m so grateful for this time to rest. 🙂
Absolutely stunning, Krista – did you ever answer my camera lens question? I can’t recall what post I asked it on and would really appreciate some input on you regarding the lens you use for your landscape photos.
🙂

I sure did, Valerie! But I’ll email you as well. 🙂 XO
I know it’s cliche but I love Paris. I completely eat up all the stuff that is said about it and romanticizes it because… well… it’s true! Love the pictures of the south bank.
I love it too, Margyle 🙂 And if it’s real to us, it’s NOT a cliche. 🙂 Right?! 🙂
Beautiful – one of my favourite cities, whatever the season.
Thank you, Jeanne. 🙂 It is one of my favorites too. 🙂
Love the combination of the beautiful black and white photos with the quotes!
If you know how I long to live here, in Paris…………sigh
