It’s a cuddly sort of Saturday morning, dark and cloudy and quiet with the hope of rain. The sort of day where everything is leisurely and gentle, nothing rushed or harried.
It’s a day for meanderings through the gardens, checking on the progress of baby kale, sturdy cabbages, and prolific radishes, peas, and parsley.
Of strolls to chicken pens collecting freshly laid eggs and scratching the ears of dogs eager for some loving.
Of morning naps, coffee breaks with slices of strawberry tart, and snuggling under blankets to lose myself in a new mystery, favorite magazine, and a few squares of dark chocolate.

Simple pleasures are always the best. We just love to sit on our terrace watching the world go by. Will never tire of it. 🙂

You always bring a bit of joy and an ‘ah-ha’ moment to my life with each of these posts. I had just looked out the window and thought, “Oh no, is the sun not coming back today?” and was heading towards the grumpies when I read this and thought to myself, ‘let’s go find some simple pleasures today’ whether it rains or not. And I had just said to Joel, that if we get to Australia again I don’t care what the itinerary is as long as I get to meet you somewhere along the way!
I am SO happy that any future trip to Oz will include visiting me, @disqus_WseMqaTPwi:disqus ! 🙂 I will love that SO much. 🙂
Your simple pleasures are in fact the best, Krista! While other people indulge in gadgets or cars or whatever, you hold the ones are the true gifts of nature 🙂
