Mornin’ luvs! I took yesterday off to spend a gloriously sunshiny day driving and hiking in the mountains with my dear friend Jenny and her Mom’s adorable dog, Nigel.
I’ve never attempted hiking on crutches before, but, although my arms now feel like I could be Popeye’s daughter, it was worth every wobbly-armed, aching hands, oh-good-heavens-how-do-I-get-myself-into-these-things moment. From gushing streams to mountain vistas, stunning beauty at every turn had us gasping in awe and shouting “pull over! pull over!”
Today I’m heading up to Canada to get my brand spanking new passport, so I’ll leave you with a few images of our adventure in the mountains.
I’ll be back tomorrow to tell you all about it. 🙂

What is your favorite memory from your weekend?
AMAZING photos!!
Thank you!! 🙂 I’m so glad you like them. 🙂
Gorgeous! I’d love to spend days at this place.Â
I hope you feel better soon. xx
Isn’t it wonderful? I just stared and stared and stared, breathing in that delicious fresh air. 🙂
Beautiful photos Krista. You live in a beautiful place! Take care of yourself!!! I’ll reply to your email today!
Thank you, Zita! I promise I am – I took lots of rests and elevated my foot often. 🙂 I will look for your email!! 🙂
The mother hen just creeped up on me when I saw the gorgeous photo of you at the tip of an embankment on crutches. With the gorgeous scenery I am sure it was worth every moment.
Yipes! It did on me too when I saw it, Val! Thankfully my friend was there to steady me if I needed it. 🙂 And I took things very, very slowly and carefully. 🙂
I cannot BELIEVE you went hiking on crutches! You must have arms of steel! Fabulous pics. You look adorable!
Ayiyi – I can’t either, Joanne! My arms are killing me today, but it was worth it. 🙂
what a brave soul… it must have been glorious though! Love your photos!
Either brave or crazy, Susan! 🙂 It really was glorious. 🙂
Beautiful photos but only you would hike on crutches surely 🙂
I wasn’t planning on it until we actually got out there, Linda, and then I couldn’t help myself. 🙂
You didn’t try to cross that rushing stream on crutches, did you?!? It looks so lovely there. I really like all the moss and water. I bet the sound was amazing.
No way, Stevie!! 🙂 Just strolled sedately along the edge. 🙂 The sound was spectacular!!
Oh, hope you feel better soon and looking forward to seeing you soon!
Thank you, dear Ozoz! Only two more weeks!!! 🙂
You nutty, nutty, broad, you!Â
You won’t catch me disagreeing with you, Duchess. 🙂
Gorgeous hike. Cannot believe you did it on crutches!
Isn’t it wonderful, El? To be honest, I can’t either. It’s not something I ever want to have to do again, but I’m glad I did it! 🙂
Great photos and those arms of yours must be something huge by now if you went hiking. Favorite memory of this weekend was going out to dinner with the Mrs.
Thank you, Kirk! 🙂 I don’t know about huge, but they certainly are sore! 🙂 Dinner with the Mrs sounds fantastic. 🙂
My you’re a brave soul! Look at the big smile on crutches =) Â ~Andrea.
It was so fun, Andrea! And such a treasure to get out after being cooped up for so long. 🙂
My favorite memory was not the head lice treatment I had to do to myself (thank you, adorable little child, for sharing!), nor was it my nine-hour drive home from Memphis. It certainly wasn’t the sweet parting from a new friend, but it is (and will remain) the hope of seeing one another again soon.
Oh my goodness, J9! I’m so glad you have a happy moment in the midst of all that mayhem. 🙂 I too am looking forward to reunions with old and new friends in the months to come. Such lovely things to look forward to. 🙂
Totally worth the hobble for those pics! However, you are a better outdoorsy woman than me. If I have a hangnail, I don’t even change out of my pajamas.
Hiking in crutches! That’s determination:) Beautiful photos.
