One of my favorite moments in Malta was on the island of Gozo, as I strode the glorious cliffs towering above the Mediterranean with my dear American and British friends Barbara, Janet and Colin.
The sun blazed down on us as we stepped carefully along rock-strewn pathways, stopping to gaze in awe at the stunning azure waters and blindingly white rock faces.
I love how even with lack of rain and blistering heat, greenery and flowers still manage to thrive among the rocks.
Before traveling to Malta I had never even heard of Gozo. Now it’s one of my favorite places in the world, a place I long to return to when the weather cools a bit and I can walk for hours without sweating buckets.
Although I was utterly smitten by the views, culture, and food of Gozo, it is the people I love the most. Janet and Colin, our wonderful Cockney hosts at the King’s Lodge Bed and Breakfast, made our adventure in Malta an absolute gift. I can’t wait to tell you all about them and our jolly ramblings very soon.
Where is your favorite place to go walking?
Breathtaking….that was so realistic I started getting a little woozy.
Ohhh, I know what you mean, William! I was woozy standing so close to the edge!! 🙂
Just stunning Krista!!
Thank you, Val! It is definitely a stunning place with such wild, untouched beauty. 🙂
Oh my god, those are beautiful! Incredibly, fear-inducingly high up, but beautiful. I’ve been wanting to try cliff diving, but I think I’d definitely need to start at a fraction of one of those. 😉
Sara
Ohhh, I know what you mean, Sara! I’d love to try cliff-jumping too – but only off very little, safe ones. 🙂
Wow! I agree…that first photo made my stomach drop. What a trip!
Oy, me too, Annette! I had to hold a friends hand to get close enough to the edge to even take the picture. Yipes!!
The 1st and 4th pictures wrecked me. In the best way.
I’m so glad, Jamie. 🙂 It tears my heart a little too – in the best way. 🙂
I’m jealous of your Malta trip! I want to go there right now!!!
Gorgeous! Love the blue ocean. You look very happy Krista!
Your cliffside photos make me feel like I can smell the sea! Amazing, reminds me a bit of the Balearic Islands!
Wow! The last cliffs we saw were the Cliffs of Moher but these put them to shame
Gorgeous and amazing pictures . these are so beautiful . thanks for sharing
