The weather has been so crazy here lately – a mix of invigorating Spring mornings, sultry Autumn afternoons, and downright chilly Winter evenings. Such wonky weather inevitably makes me think of London where you can also experience every season within one day, if not a few hours.
It makes me wish I could hop aboard a flight heading for Heathrow where I could meet up with some of my England-based friends for good old visits in a cozy pub or tea house.
We would wander the streets at our leisure, people-watching most happily and stopping to buy the prettiest flowers we could find.
We wouldn’t be able to resist nipping in to every bookshop we came upon. Just for a look, mind you. Though if I had to leave bearing armloads of John Buchan hard covers, I wouldn’t complain one bit.
When we got tired of exploring we’d meander over to Hyde Park and find a sunny spot to rest our bones a while.
What would you like to do if you had a day in London?

The weather has been fab so far – but I still haven’t made it to the closest park to me – Regent’s – so I’ll try and do that this weekend!
That sounds so wonderful, @disqus_HZRRcyIMXP:disqus 🙂 I’ve never been to Regent’s Park so I’ll look forward to your photos if you take some! 🙂
One of my coworkers is moving to london so I really hope I get to visit soon!
Ohhh, that’s fantastic, @joanneeatswellwithothers:disqus 🙂 I would LOVE to read about your adventures over there. 🙂
Eat fish and chips, wander through Harrod’s and people watch:D
Absolutely brilliant, @disqus_2LQ5qLN5aY:disqus 🙂 I love that plan. 🙂
You’ve given me wanderlust but I’ll wait till fall when the crowds are gone. Have a great day. Blessings…Mary
Isn’t Fall the best time to travel, @OnePerfectBite:disqus ? 🙂 It’s definitely my favorite. 🙂
I am here Krista and appreciating it so much more than when I lived here 13 years ago. That’s what I now love about the UK, the seasons (something that didn’t really exist in Spain). Well if you decide to pop over let me know. I’ll be waiting for you xx
I would love to visit with you SO much, @vannessaluxuria:disqus 🙂 I will DEFINITELY let you know when I get over there again. 🙂 xo
COME!!!! I miss you so much! XOXO
If I could, dear @katyabroad:disqus , I’d be there tomorrow. With bells on. 🙂 I miss my Katy girl dreadfully. XO
There is really nothing I love more than looking at photos of tea houses and bookshops. Sigh.
Sigh indeed, @bcdeb9873aa58892d29aa565c71353f5:disqus 🙂 They make my heart happy too. 🙂
Love those deck chairs in the park! Chilly here in Canberra! Wishing you a happy weekend.
Aren’t they cheery chairs, @07f24846f8979cd442a3f521708f12ae:disqus ? 🙂 I hope your weather warms up for you this weekend. 🙂
I’d shop. Visit the Victoria and Albert Museum. See a show. How many hours in a day???
Totally agree with you. London is all-leather but so full of delights and surprises, you’re never far from something fascinating – be it quiet (which surprisingly can be found) or excitement.
It is interesting about the weather Krista, no longer seasons but just weather and extremes where ever you are in the world it seems. Thanks for all your continuing support during what has been a difficult year for me. xx
The bookshop made me think of Diagon Alley from Harry Potter. I just wanted to be there..and pretend I was in the movie 😉
I would go to Borough Market in the morning, then spend the afternoon and evening strolling along the Southbank, visiting the Tate Modern, the Southbank Centre, and just soaking up the atmosphere 🙂 Oh hang on, I *do* like in London! ;o) Come and visit!!
All I experienced in London was one terminal of its airport. It sounds like a great city, and this sounds like such a peaceful day 🙂 I especially like the idea of experiencing all seasons in one day 🙂
